KC Webster House closes permanently

Well, this sucks.

Don't know anything about it and the link is behind a paywall, but that's a damn cool building.

It appears to be a moderately priced restaurant and shops.

Site is here.

It's a fine dining restaurant/antique shop basically attached to the symphony next door.

It's where all the yobbos with more money than sense go to eat before events there.

Same here, don't know anything about it. Freaking KC Star paywall.

People everywhere mourn closure of restaurant they couldn't afford

kcclone 04-20-2020 04:34 PM

The restaurant, hospitality, retail and service fall out is just getting going. I would expect 30-40% of the locations we all frequent to go out of business in the next year. Strip malls will be 30-80% empty everywhere.

There's still quite a bit in the service sector chugging along. All the others you mentioned...yeah it's not going to be pretty.

The KC market oversaturated

Deberg_1990 04-20-2020 04:43 PM

Well this sucks. I always enjoyed eating there.

I still mourn the closing of HOUSTON'S at the plaza. What a great place it was! Great Food and Great memories!

KCUnited 04-20-2020 05:13 PM

Great mammaries too

Kiimo 04-20-2020 05:15 PM

Y'all better not lose another Taco Via, I require those to stay open for when I visit.

It was bad enough losing Winsteads
