Justice Shelton Mosley

Anyone got some cut ups of him? Apparently he may be taking over return duties as Hardman gets slotted for a bigger role.

*****

Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub said he's "not sure" about Mecole Hardman continuing his role as the team's primary returner.

"I don’t want to lose him," Toub continued. "I think he’s just scratched the surface as a returner." Toub went on to note that a bigger offensive role for Hardman may limit his availability as a returner, which would be a welcomed sight for fantasy players after the 22-year-old spiked six touchdowns and averaged 20.7 yards per catch on just 41 targets all season. For what it's worth, UDFA Justice Shelton-Mosely was also told he "would be the guy to do the things Hardman does" on special teams upon being signed. Any additional reps over Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson would obviously push Hardman into the WR3 and weekly FLEX range for fantasy in only his second year working with Patrick Mahomes.

Uh this is a guy who I've never heard of nor did I think had any chance of making the team.

Well, at least this kid is smart. He earned a degree in economics from Harvard before transferring to Vanderbilt as a post grad.

Toub is probably impressed by his numbers as a returner - 16 punt returns and 145 yards (9.1 yards/return) and as a junior, he was an First Team FCS All-America.

He was limited to four games in 2018 due to injury but still racked up 465 receiving yards on 24 receptions, which is 19.4 yards per catch.

Smart has value. It's going to be fun to watch these young kids play.

There is this thing called "game speed". Where adrenalin kicks in and actually makes you faster like a 4.3. Some guys have it and some do not. Terrell Davis had it. Terrell was a 4.6 guy but when he got into the open nobody could catch him as we all so painfully remember. My guess this guy has it. So the lesson learned here is never be too quick to judge 4.5-4.7 guys in a straight up 40 time. Watch what they do on the field and on tape.;)

I wonder if he likes to fish and drink beer. That tells you a lot about a guys credentials.

Justice? Is he on the Supreme Court?
Guy plays football and sits on the bench?

CoMoChief 05-20-2020 06:22 PM

Meh...

Hardman was a good returner last season, a probowler his rookie year as matter of fact.

and Tyreek Hill before that.

The difference is those 2 are MUCH faster and agile than this guy.

Hardman is a good deep threat and could even be deadlier on the long ball this season. But let's be real here. Even when he's on the field he'd probably be the 4th perhaps 5th option depending on down/distance etc.

Keep Hardman on the field as KR...Don't remove what he's good at.

Yeah i can't imagine the Chiefs are handing him the job. But it sounds like he's been told where he'll compete.
