And yet it's the contract that every player wants. It's a half-BILLION dollars, idiot talk show people.

eDave 07-14-2020 02:03 PM

The best contracts are written to benefit both parties. There is no point otherwise.

MahiMike 07-14-2020 02:08 PM

By worst, they mean best. Brett Veach is da TROOF!

RealSNR 07-14-2020 02:09 PM

Bad for whom?

Bad for Mahomes? Yeah, he could have gotten more on fewer years and then re-upped. But he didn't. Again, who the hell are these people to judge what is best for another man?

Bad for the Chiefs? You're a ****ing idiot if you think this. We could have gotten spanked, but at the end of the day we would have locked up perhaps the best QB the league has ever seen. The cherry on top is that we have cap flexibility from year to year.

Idiocy.

HayWire 07-14-2020 02:14 PM

Who the hell was it bad for? Chiefs got the best QB locked up and Mahomes got 1/2 a billion dollars.

I guess Mahomes should have held out for 600 million?

****ing morons

comochiefsfan 07-14-2020 02:14 PM

Lol the media is sooo mad that small market KC got a team friendly deal. They wanted Mahomes to **** us so bad.

There is not an elite player in the league who wants a $10M signing bonus. Mahomes really gave the Chiefs a sweetheart deal on the front end of this contract.

Halfcan 07-14-2020 02:29 PM

Skip says the Chiefs messed it up for other teams-lol So ****ing what- that is what works for us.

This interview is already dated- the Chris Jones contract just ended all their arguments. We could not have done that deal without the Mahomes contract being done this way.

Imagine if the Patriots swung this kind of deal. Oh yea, they kinda did.

Quoting other agents as if their opinions matter-lol

Sure, it was team friendly but that was on purpose. And the team just used that money saved to resign Jones. Jones needs to give Mahomes some of that money or at least contribute some money to Mercy in his name.

He's on the cover of GQ. He's got some sort of national deal with Coors Light. He's going to get a lot more than a HALF of a BILLION $'s. Why would he not want to play on a competitive team?

Gravedigger 07-14-2020 02:40 PM

He doesn't get to test FA every 5 years, but if he gets injured like Alex Smith did, or gets injured to where he's not the same, he's guaranteed money to pay him in injury settlement as well. It works both ways.

Fish 07-14-2020 02:45 PM

So bad, we just signed Chris Jones.

They hate us cause they ain't us.
