Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson part of group that buys XFL

For a reported $15 million.

Gonna be interesting to see what his ideas are to revive it

ThaVirus 08-03-2020 08:42 AM

He's really taking his role in Ballers seriously

tyecopeland 08-03-2020 08:44 AM

Maybe they'll take in all the pac 10/12 players.

Buehler445 08-03-2020 09:59 AM

I didn’t know ol Vince is selling.

Shaid 08-03-2020 10:24 AM

If they can make it work, that's not much compared to what the revenue could turn into.

loochy 08-03-2020 10:24 AM

I didn’t watch any games, but I think the fans got more media coverage than the games

ChiliConCarnage 08-03-2020 10:47 AM

15 million. Oof :doh!:

I still think theres something to an alternate football league as an afterlife for popular college players who couldn't make it in the NFL. In non nfl markets. Cardale should have played for a columbus team. Landry Jones should have played for OKC. Manziel is perfect for this type of league.

chiefzilla1501 08-03-2020 11:51 AM

I also think coaches should think way outside the box. AAF were too true to the NFL way. Pocket QBs are painful to watch. Bring in athletic QBs and run something crazy. These are the type of QBs who can never make it in the NFL but would be hella fun to watch against this type of competition.

smithandrew051 08-03-2020 11:57 AM

Well that league has officially hit Rock Bottom

The Franchise 08-03-2020 12:09 PM

If anyone can get that league to work....it would be him.

RINGLEADER 08-03-2020 01:40 PM

Only way a spring football league works is if it is tied to NFL teams. I would root for the Kansas City _______ or the _______ Chiefs. I don’t care two wits about the St. Louis Rampage or Portland Predators. A real farm team for the NFL could work though where practice squad guys and lower-tier players could have playing time.

The NFL smells what The Rock is cooking.

If it weren't for COVID, the XFL part 2 would probably still be around. The really did a good job presenting their product, like showing what the replay official is looking at and explaining what they are looking for during a disputed call.
