John Dorsey appreciation thread

This is the non-talked about connection between the Browns and Chiefs.

John Dorsey drafted Patrick Mahomes.

John Dorsey drafted Baker Mayfield.

Both QBs now face each other in the divisional round.

Meanwhile, John Dorsey was fired from both franchises and is sitting at home watching.

Let's appreciate this guy's eye for talent - even if he has a penchant for giving huge contract to guys with no spirit!

Umm Baker still wasn’t the right pick.

It should’ve been Allen.

True, but he could have picked Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen too.

I don't think Allen would be as good with the Browns but I could be wrong.

Tanoh Kpassagnon over Alvin Kamara

**** him. His arrogance and my way or the highway cost us years of development. Todd Haley is now the offensive coordinator of a mediocre high school football team.

Veach gets credit for Mahomes.

Jehu Chesson over George Kittle

Why do dumbasses love to suck this guy's dick?

So which scout do you give credit for the CEH pick? Or how exactly does this assign credit to the scout and not the actual GM who made the actual final decision system work?

Dorsey has his warts, but you can't deny his ability to turn a team around. The Chiefs were 2-14 before he took over. He purged 2/3 of the roster and built the foundation for a Superbowl champ. Then, he went to a Brown's team that went 1-31 in the 2 years prior. Now, they are am 11 win team and won their first playoff game in 36 years. I know that he was succeeded by GM's in both places that took them to the next level. But he laid the foundation for both teams. If I were one of the teams looking for a GM right now, Dorsey would be on top of my list. If he needs replaced in 2-3 years, so what? It's worked out just fine in KC and Cleveland.

This is dumb. Dorsey was a great drafter but was bad with salary and even worse when it came being power hungry.

Buehler445 01-11-2021 12:25 AM

He was the best we had.

Until Veach. Then suddenly we see all of his deficiencies. Veach isn't perfect either *Cough* Right Guard *Cough*

He deserves a lot of credit for un****ing the **** that Scott Franchise Killer Pioli left in ruins.

Yeah I agree. If he fixes his issues when it comes to knowing his limits powerwise, then he's probably one of if not the best GM in the league. If not, then he leaves behind a talented playoff ready roster for the next FO.

Freddie Kitchens.

You can end the thread now.

tk13 01-11-2021 01:00 AM

He has drafted some talent. I just can't really ever rationalize the fact that the guy hired Freddie Kitchens. It's one of the worst coaching hires in recent history. Doesn't matter how much talent you get when you do that.

Titty Meat 01-11-2021 01:06 AM

You'll get alot of hate on here because this is now homer planet but Dorsey was arguably the best GM weve ever had til Veach came along and had the benefit of filling in the gaps even though his first draft was average at best.
