LG OLED: Tell me about it

Our 70" Vizio M series finally died last week, and we need a new living room TV. I almost made an impulse buy on a Samsung 82/85" at Sams before the game last Sunday, but thought better of it.

We have a 55" Panasonic plasma covering us until the new TV has been purchased.

I saw a 65" LG OLED in Sams that was awesome, but we can not step down in size. LG has a 77" model that gets great reviews, and is currently at $3300. I will have to order and wait 2 weeks to receive. :(

Tell me about them. Do you own one, do you have friends that own one? I want to know if the step up in price is worth it. We use the TV often.

Thanks guys.

The picture quality cannot and will not be matched until micro-LED is out. Each pixel emits its own light source, allowing the bulbs to essentially turn themselves off during dark or black scenes. It really is eye popping, and every guest we have over creams themselves when they watch it. Zero regrets and you won't have any either. I am pretty jealous you found a 77 for $3300; thats a great price. Just make sure all of your equipment is ready for 4k. We had to buy a new streaming stick and sound receiver because they wouldn't do 4k pass-through.

Saw one in person when I was TV shopping a few months ago, but more than I could spend without the wife giving me shit. They're beautiful and super thin and light. I have buyer's remorse for not just sucking it up and buying the thing because it's the best looking TV I've been in front of.

Best available TV technology right now. If you can afford one, get it. You will definitely not regret it.

I can afford but newegg won't ship here!

I am contacting them for other options, because 3300 + the 330 gift cert and no tax is unreal. In the end it will save just under 300 in tax, + the gift card.

Sigh

We will see. Newegg's customer service is known to be horrible.

Thanks, Donger. That was my last option. I was being cheap and tried to avoid sales tax.

I asked them about different freight options and the answer was as expected: get ****ed.

BigBeauford 01-30-2021 03:23 PM

Is there anywhere nearby that sells this that would price match?

Donger 01-30-2021 03:30 PM
