RIP Jim Steinman

Likely not a household name for some, likely huge name for others. Likely going to get a ton of 'who' posts.

But if you've ever simultaneously rolled your eyes and turned the volume up to a song, it was probably a Steinman song.

For anyone who remembers in a moment what it means to be 'doubly blessed'

Bat Out of Hell is one of the greatest albums ever. One of the few that I can listen to in its entirety; no shitty/filler songs.

RIP to a master of his craft.

Who?

stevieray 04-22-2021 02:45 PM

IIRC, Def Leppard was going to record Hysteria with him, but there was major conflict in the studio.

They had to wait almost a year(?) for the infamous Bob Rock to produce the album, because he had been suffering from exhaustion.

RIP

He definitely made a mark in the music industry.

RIP...

He definitely had a unique over the top style to his songs.

I liked the ones he did for the ‘Streets of Fire’ soundtrack

Up there with Dark Side of the Moon, as one of those albums you just sit down in a comfy chair with some whiskey and listen to the whole thing.

Or, put it on at a party for some epic dancefloor mass karoake hedonist bullshit!!

Never had any of that Catholic upbringing, no Catholic guilt. But I recall as a tyke thinking for the first time my soul might be in trouble seeing that full-size album on the endcap at the Bannister Road Venture store. ;)
