Ok Gang, Need Your Help With Ideas For a Charity Drive
 

It turns out that our very own Haywire used to be a semi-pro bullrider, and at his ancient age of 45 he is looking to ride one more monster next spring for charity... and recapture some of the old glory for himself, before he's too old to do it anymore

He has asked me for help, but the truth is I have NO experience with this kinda thing whatsoever... closest I ever got was donating $50 to SOC

Really needing help with this, and in fact would prefer to pass off the heavy lifting due to my inexperience

But the basic idea is to have the board donate whatever they can, and then donate 100% of the proceeds to charity

Haywire will provide training videos as he prepares over the winter, and then live stream the actual bull ride this coming spring

The biggest question is which charity, it could be anything from Wounded Warriors in honor of Randall Flagg, to something like the Make-A-Wish foundation

We want the board to decide that question, but beyond that would ANYONE like to help tackle this project?... because, again, I have no clue at all

45 is not too old to ride wtf? I've been riding your mother well into my 70's.

Figure out what charity you're going to donate to
Name your event ie: Haywire's Bullride for (charity)
Set a $ goal: You need something to shoot for
Figure out how to accept donations and who will be the collector/distributor of funds.
Post threads on CP when certain stages of event are happening (conditioning, practice rounds) with links to donate.

I can be useful with 1-3, but am quite frankly not tech savvy enough to be the point man on this regarding which donation mechanism is used, nor do I want to be responsible for the money

Consider me an idea man, not the money guy

We're leaning Wounded Warriors, because who can't get behind that? that said our ears are open to any worthy charity... maybe some mod could help craft a good poll for donaters to choose from

It would be hilarious, and its all for a good cause
