Byron Leftwich expected to be Jags new coach

I think this is a good move

Damn, this a solid move for the Jags. He’s coming home too!

I liked Byron as a player and now as a coach, but I think this is a mistake. I believe that situation is just doomed to fail without a personality that has done this type of thing before. Jim Harbaugh would top the list. Byron just doesn't strike me as the same type of coaching personality.

I totally disagree.

I think Leftwich is perfect, he not only fits the organization, but he's a young offensive minded coach who understands players. Look, this team needs to be out of the headlines and just start building something. They have all the parts to be successful IMO.

The owner seems to think one of Jacksonville's own is the only way he can have a successful team. Urban and now Leftwich.

Whatever. I'm a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, and they do this kind of stupid shit all the time with Minnesota guys and Minnesota coaches. Flip Saunders (RIP) got a ridiculous second chance at total GM/head coach power all because they were just like, "Look... the past is all we got."

It could work out, or it could be another failure. Then what do the Jags have? Another Tom Coughlin episode?

I think this is definitely worth a try for the Jags. Obviously makes sense from a marketing perspective, and Trevor Lawrence would probably benefit from having a former NFL QB as a mentor. Being a head coach in the NFL is ****in hard so the odds may be against him, but if I were a Jags fan, I'd be pretty excited and optimistic.

Looks like he's all elite...

I like Byron. Hope he's successful.

I don’t think the jags are nearly as bad as they played. Urban Meyer and his staff were just that bad. They actually have some talent especially if you can get sunshine to play better. Which I’d have to imagine he will.

Won't matter if his GM is shit and the owner too

Is there really much positive feeling for Leftwich in Jacksonville? He was top 10 pick bust for them. I guess in that sense it's a nice redemption narrative, but I think if I was a Jaguars fan, I'd be wary.

Congrats. I hope you do well.

I had no idea he was even on the HC map. A bit surprising to me.

And another thing; Brittany needs to stop responding to the haters.
