Timeout before the challenge

Was that the right call for us to lose the timeout, just because we called it before we challenged? I could swear I've seen this happen a few times and the timeout was given back, because the play review essentially is like a timeout. I just don't think I've ever seen this happen before.

If you call a timeout, and then call a challenge, you lose both. That was Andy being a caricature of himself.

Yep and that small hiccup ended up biting us in the worst of ways.

Yeah. I said the same thing. It has definitely happened before and timeout was given back.

Dumb move by Reid, but still on the ref for that abortion of a spot.

Seems like this is the exact type of play that the replay assistant is supposed to communicate to the refs and correct without having to waste time with a challenge/replay.

It was a blatantly obvious wrong spot.

Weird how plays like that can have such a big impact on the season.

1 more timeout, and we can run the ball at the 1 yard line. Our interior OL was opening big holes practically all game. No doubt in my mind that we score a TD there.

That timeout might have cost us a trip to the Super Bowl.

That incredibly obvious spot might have cost us the championship, but still, it's on Andy to respond there. At the time I thought, hmmm, might need that TO before the half. One of a number of little things today that made it seem like it wasn't meant to be.
