Any good email templates for asking for raise?
 

Does anyone have a decent email template to use for asking for a raise?

Dear _____, I am requesting a raise of $___ per ____, otherwise I will be forced to kill your family.

I don't know if you need a template.

Just ask for what you think is fair and then list out your duties and comparable salaries for jobs similar to yours.

It helps if the person you are asking has children

Blackmail and ultimatums normally work the best.

Why would you need a template? I mean, you'd have to customize it for your specific job anyway. I fail to see how a template would help any. Keep it simple, ask for a raise, and tell them why you feel you deserve it.

Can you ask in person, then follow up with an email reiterating the points you discussed?


A face to face is always much more impactful and memorable. Bring (or attach or link) supporting evidence as required.


Be sure to head in with as many hard quantitative facts as you can regarding your performance. PROVE your point and don't leave it up to your boss to wonder or think for him or herself.



Examples:

• I drove a 150% increase in sales over 2020.
• My team grew by X heads (or X%) this year while maintaining (or exceeding) previous year performance.

As important as the request is, it's more important to know what you will do when they decline your request.

Being you are asking for an email template, I am assuming your boss is at a different location, possibly even a different state.

So I guess there's no point in asking if you prefer aluminum to wood bats.

If this is the case, then try to set up a zoom, or, at worst, a phone call.

Chiefs season is over so i can finally start doing some work. I think that uptick in production deserves a raise.
