Wide Receiver snap counts from Sunday against the Jags
As you all know, KC was down a starting WR Sunday and then was without there number 1 WR halfway through the 2nd quarter. Two players benefited most from these shitty circumstances and neither of them were named Skyy Moore.
Skyy Moore had his 2nd lowest percentage of offensive snaps since week 4. In week 7, right before the bye, Moore played in 22% of offensive snaps and this past Sunday against the Jags Moore played in 25% (16) of the offensive snaps.
The two players that benefited the most were Kadarious Toney and Justin Watson.
Toney played in 44% of the offensive snaps, which is a huge increase from the 9% he got his first week with the team.
Watson played in 73% of the snaps against the Jags. That tied him for 2nd with Kelce amongst skill position players. MVS was the only skill position player with more (84%). Watson had never gotten more than 26% of the offensive snaps.
So what will Sunday night against the Chargers look like? We will be without both Hardman and JJSS, so does that make Toney, MVS, and Watson our 3 starting WRs? We pretty much know that MVS is going to get >75% of the snaps on O. Is Watson going to get more snaps than he did last week? I think it's pretty much a guarantee, barring injury, that Toney is over 60% of snaps. Will we see Moore get over 30% of offensive snaps?
Even though Watson played almost 3/4 of the game he only got 1 target. I think maybe he gets a bit exposed with the additional snaps and I'm hoping Moore is able to get some of those snaps from him.
I'm very excited to see what they do with Toney this week. He was in 28 snaps last week and was either targeted or ran it on 25% of those snaps. I think he breaks our this week and has at least 125 yds receiving, 25 rush yds and at least 1 TD.
