Golden Era of Chiefs Football appreciation thread

Clark Hunt went in person and landed Andy Reid as the next head coach of the Chiefs about a decade ago.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">On this day 10 years ago, we hired Andy Reid as our Head Coach. <a href="https://t.co/Z35Y2QrIXM">pic.twitter.com/Z35Y2QrIXM</a></p>&mdash; Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) <a href="https://twitter.com/Chiefs/status/1611777103166574595?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">January 7, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Ever since we have steadily gotten better and now we are living the "Golden Era" of KC Chiefs football

After so much turmoil this past decade has been incredible. Now with Andy Reid, Brett Veach, Mahomes and others we are set up for success now and years into the future.

Appreciate that Clark went and landed his guy Andy. We have come a long way from flying banners over the stadium.

I try not to take it for granted. Just enjoying every moment.

Remember when all the Eagles fans were coming here to tell us how much we'd eventually hate Andy Reid?

Pepperidge Farms remembers...

But for Mahomes, they would likely have been proved correct

Nah, he got off the plane here and proceeded to rip off 9 straight with Alex Smith... and it just kept getting better from there, we'd still love him even without Mahomes

locker room show had a stat teaser earlier

Who was the last Raiders QB before Derek Carr that beat the Chiefs

Carson Palmer beat Romeo Crennels Chiefs 15-0 on 5 seabass field goals

I never thought this time would come.

Just didn't believe it was meant for us. Still doesn't feel real sometimes, but goddamn it feels good to be a Chiefs fan!!!

Whenever you feel down, remember you could’ve lived at any time in human history…but you live in the time when Patrick Mahomes is the QB of your favorite professional football team.

We are becoming either the team of bandwagon fans all over the country, or the team that everyone hates all over the country. That is a good thing...

When the draft was completed we began to say this team could be better than last year's team. Yes, we lost Tyreek. Yes, our division rivals spent tons of money and made multiple huge trades. Yes, the talking heads wrote one obituary after another in regards to the impending collapse of the once mighty Kansas City Chiefs.

To witness that game yesterday was a thing of beauty. It seemed every other play a first or second year player was making an impact. This is unprecedented, this team is unprecedented as a whole starting with our super star QB. In fact, if I could describe the Mahomes era in a nut shell I'd call it an unprecedented high level of success.

Man what a team!!!!

Agree.

Andy laid the foundation before whoever would have replaced Smith.

Let's act like adults and not turn this into another Anti-Smith drama thread.

It's been an amazing ten years. How good times flies!

pretty much this

we're so spoiled its gonna be hard when this dream ends

arguing over little things with a 13+ game winning team

coming from a long line of retreads and game managers

to an Immortal

Its totally unreal and I try not to lose sight of that

Its not just anti "alex smith" but we (fans who witnessed 50 years of failure) were sick of retreads and the Chiefs never swinging the bat on a #1 QB since about 1983. Its anti ANYTHING thats not swinging for a home run. Alex smith was never winning a championship...he was a seat filler game manager and a guy who stopped the bleeding and playing to not lose.

Credit to Clark Hunt as well for putting his money on the table, and allowing us to be a team players WANT to play for... getting Reid and Veach and spending big bucks on talent.. and making trades to do it.

enjoy the ride

I appreciate the Reid era Chiefs, and ESPECIALLY Mahomes, every snap of football I watch. Every game at every level.
