*** The Official Chiefs Appreciation Thread ***
Guys, good vibes here only. When I come to KC for a game and they win, my post-game celebration involves fondue and drinking a fair bit at the Melting Pot. We all have our things that help us to appreciate where we were in our youth when this team brought us endless heartache and disappointment.
I remember flying up for the Chiefs/Broncos playoff game in ‘98 from Florida, and walking out of that stadium and seeing grown men frozen in their seats in utter emotional evisceration was something I’ve never forgotten. I remember when Knile Davis returned that opening kickoff for a TD and how my wife of 5 days and I celebrated the first Chiefs playoff win. I remember everything after that. And now I remember 5 straight AFCCGs “hosted.” Quotes obviously because we’re not quite official but it’s legitimate. I just wanted to say that those of you who judge a season’s success solely on “did they win a SB?” are kinda like missing the point. It’s truly the journey - not the destination. Don’t get me wrong - that SB was amazing. But the ability to appreciate this team’s success every season in grazing the apex is still really ****ing cool. Next week? Let’s ****ing do this. We re-tooled our offense and had the best offense in football and made it just as far as we did in prior seasons. Time to just appreciate how fortunate we are. We are THAT team. So this is this thread. Be grateful and thankful. How much closure has this given your 12yr old self? Can you step back from bitching about Karlaftis in coverage to appreciate that we’re here? Can we give a group hug to Toub, Spags, and Reid? Love you all. |
Big fan of the KC Chiefs. My favorite professional football team.
|
My wife pointed out that the commentators were comparing our Kansas City Chiefs quarterback to Michael Jordan after the game. It was a reminder to savor every moment.

Team knows how to win close games. Happy with their ability to hold onto the ball as well. I guess I could say something about PMII, but it’s all really been said better by others.
And I’m no Ralph Waldo Emerson. So, carry on. |
you can almost see the first rays of sunlight peeking over the horizon as the dynasty begins to dawn
|
I prefer the Chiefs over all other football teams
|
Love it. I have been a Chiefs fan a long time and this my friends is the golden era.
Enjoy fans, your witnessing greatness. |
We have finally been rewarded with something other than mullets and 12” penii, a consistory good foot ball team!
|
My god 16 yrs. old me would be so happy so many years of hearing go cowboys or go Texans to seeing my qb being compared to montana and bradshaw. Plus seeing other fans hate us cause they ain't us is so good. Also five afc champships games i don't need one i need five!
|
We had such a blast today at the game. Perfect football weather! Even Jags fans knew when Mahomes came back in, they would not win.
|
I am just trying to sit back and enjoy it. It'll never be better than this. I remember driving 23 out of 28 hours to Indy and back. Just to watch us get our asses handed to us. All because playoff games were somewhat rare and any given Sunday and all that shit. Now we're going to our 5th straight AFC championship game and maybe 3rd Super Bowl in 5 years. It's unreal.

Went to the game.
Had a blast. Probably lost my voice. Totally ****ing worth it. |
My Dad got to see the first Superbowl victory, I was 3 years old so I dont remember it.
We watched games together my whole life and I wanted to see a Super bowl win with him. Sadly he passed away when the Andy Reid era began. But my daughters have enjoyed this dynasty we are witnessing and it makes me even more thankful to be able to share it with them! These are truly the best times to be a Chief fan! Eternally Grateful! GO CHIEFS!! |
Chiefs have a franchise QB with a 9-3 playoff record. Crazy times.
|
