Anyone here ever deliver for Door-Dash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc?

I've been needing some extra cash here lately, so I signed up for Doordash and Uber Eats. (I'm currently waitlisted on Grubhub)

Honestly, I love it. The people are friendly, the tips are good, and I enjoy driving anyway.

Anyone else ever done this as a side gig?

My side gigs are work from home

Never done it personally but I did just attempt to clean a large oil stain off my driveway from a recent Door Dash delivery.

Get your vehicles up to par :cuss:

Wife did it briefly and liked it.

Make sure you let your car insurance know you are driving. If you don’t, you will be uninsured if you get in an accident while working

Keep in mind the depreciation of your vehicle when calculating what you are making. Track your miles so you get reimbursed when you do your taxes.

Also keep in mind you are basically 1099, so you will be paying taxes on what you’re made at the end of the year.

They shouldn't be parking in your driveway

I’ve done DoorDash before. It can be sorta fun.

Really? This concept is foreign to me. My driveway is there specifically for people to park on if they are at my house. Safer than the street and they are there for under a minute.

Didn’t you get a big ass promotion and raise not too long ago?

What kind of street do you live on?

No other delivery service does it.

The main reason I don’t park in peoples driveways is because I can jump back in my car and get going quickly rather than having to back out.

I still can't believe there are people who will pay $20+ for a McDonald's value meal

The Franchise 02-11-2023 11:35 AM

To the people who drive....

I know you're trying to maximize your tips as much as possible but it annoys me to no end when I order a decent sized amount of food for my family, make sure that I tip really well....and then the driver picks up like 3 other orders and somehow we're last on the drop off.

Is that what it cost to have that delivered? I won’t even order something in a drive through because I know that they’ll screw up my order(except Chick Fil A). Paying that much extra for them to screw it up seems crazy to me.

I ordered 5 guys from UberEats because I had a $30 credit. For two meals it still was almost 30 more dollars with the credit.

Never again

Their clientele has to be like 75% drunk people, right?
