Splash trade
With the draft in Kansas City Clark will want to be the talk of day 1. So here is a splash idea.
Chicago will trade out of the first pick with someone like the colts or Raiders. Chicago will load up on picks this year and next year. So they are going to be super young. So with that said we call up our old friend Ryan Poles and offer him a trade giving him a veteran leader at a major spot of need. Chicago gets- OBJ on a tag and trade CEH Our first rounder this year Kansas City gets- Their first rounder either #4 or #7. With that pick we take Broderick Jones OT from Georgia Chicago gets a pro bowl LT. Somebody that fits their run first offense. And his pass protection flew off speed rusher will hurt defenses with Fields being able to run right underneath the edge runner. CEH gives them a back that can really help in the pass game too. And they still get a first rounder to fill a need Kansas City gets a young corner stone LT. That fits our offensive style perfectly. It also allows us to run a rookie contract for the next couple years keeping our core intact. |

Yeah...this sounds like a Madden trade. No chance of this happening in real life.

2. If we get a pick that early and we decide to go tackle, the selection will be Paris Johnson. Broderick Jones is not a top ten player. |
In addition to the comp not being enough for them, I dont think this works because of the sequence of events.
- We need to know where we stand with OBJ soon - Chicago would actually need to make the trade back from 1, and they are in no hurry to do so. |
This is like the worst trade ever.
Number 1, Chicago gets pretty bad value here and secondly you're taking a guy projected in the 20's in the top 10 wtf? |

Broderick Jones isn't going in the 20's. Top 15, for sure. I think he's easily tackle #2 at this point and it's no guarantee a team doesn't like him more than Paris Johnson.
Skoronski might slip a bit. His arms came in at only 32-1/4." It'll be interesting to see how teams see him now, tackle or guard. His comp has been Slater but he at least was at 33" which is about the shortest you see for NFL tackles. As for the trade, no that shit aint happening. |
