As I've been trying to explain to some on here, when people say it's a weak draft class, they're typically talking about the top 10-20 picks. That doesn't even apply to us.

I 100% agree there's not a lot of separation from 10 to 50. I'd say more like 20 to 50 but that's my opinion. That definitely does not make a draft weak. Now, if your 1-20 is most draft's 20-40 and 20 to 50 is more like 60-90, then I'd call it weak.

I'm not sure I see it as being like that.

I think last year's draft skewed successive drafts...it was a great class, plus it was a bonus year for many due to covid. There won't be many more like it for a few decades unless China decides to unleash another even deadlier virus on the world

Yep, last year's draft was pretty unique because there were so many prospects that would have gone the year before if it hadn't have been for COVID.

I would really like it if we figured out LT outside of the 1st rd. Obviously there’s capable guys like Anton Harrison who we might be able to get.

But man. The DL class this year is special.

You could absolute find a very good prospect there and be set on the DL for years to come.

Which is why I see little utility in trading up in the first round

Mazi Smith feels like a Chiefs to me.

It's a tough perspective when you're picking at the bottom of the draft. I think we might have to take a OT in the 1st or the top 2 tiers of OL will be gone by our pick in the 2nd. There's more depth at DL/DE in this draft and I think we'll just have to go BPA at those positions with #63. FA has several vet talents possibly willing to take favorable deals to play for a SB at WR and DE which would be nice to have going into the draft.

Trade the 1 for Tunsil

When people talk of a weak draft class i think it normally means weak in "marquee" positions, QB, WR, maybe DE and OT. This class IS weak in those positions imo, at least it isn't a great year for slam dunk elite talent there. Aside from DE perhaps. The QBs looks average, there's a lack of even 1 true stand out WR, few OTs look plug-and-play starters. There's lots of depth 20-50 or 60 with guys that look good but probably have 1 or 2 question marks to their name. If RB and TE were valued more highly it'd look like a very good class. Maybe the only other area it looks good is corner? Safety and linebacker positions hardly look historic.

Signing Taylor sure opens things up.

2017 didn't get a lot of people excited, including the QB's, but there were top players going end of the 1st, 2nd round, even into the 5th round.

A lot of people dont realize that the 20 and 21 draft pushed a lot of prospects into 22. I hope people arent expecting last years success every year.
