ESPN's Todd McShay 2-RD Draft

Chiefs:

31. Kansas City Chiefs
Felix Anudike-Uzomah, DE, Kansas State

Anudike-Uzomah is a speed rusher who can beat double-teams and pursues the QB with relentless effort. He tallied 19.5 sacks and 30.5 tackles for loss since becoming a starter with the Wildcats in 2021. The Chiefs were second in sacks last season with 55, but much of their production came either from the blitz or Chris Jones on the interior. Adding Anudike-Uzomah to an edge-rush group that already includes George Karlaftis and Charles Omenihu should create a little more balance.

As an aside, I bet the Chiefs take a look at their wide receiver board when they're on the clock, too. Tennessee's Jalin Hyatt could be a fun deep-threat addition to this offense.

63. Kansas City Chiefs
Jonathan Mingo, WR, Ole Miss

Let's close out Round 2 with a vertical route runner for Patrick Mahomes. Mingo ran a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash at the combine, but he tracks the deep ball well and can find his way behind the defense. The Chiefs lost JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman, so they'd be wise to get a talented pass-catcher on Day

I think I would prefer...

WR Hyatt or DT Smith > DE Anudike-Uzomah.

WR Mingo is a decent pick in the 2nd, but I woulda gone DE I. Foskey.

Nah.

Would be nice to see all the picks made to get more clarity

I like both of the positions addressed and where - I just don't know that I like either of those players over other options who are likely to be available.

Was this at The Athletic? I think it's usually Brugler that does their draft stuff. McShay is usually ESPN right? If so, that's probably behind a pay wall.

Probably not where i would go. But i wouldn't be surprised. Mingo has been getting some hype here lately.

I'm OK with Mingo at 63 and wouldn't be surprised if he ends up higher than that.

I don't mind the pick at 31, but would think hard about White, Benton, and Bresee instead.

I think theres better value to be had at 31, but could see the argument. And I think Mingo and Mims will both go higher than current projections.

Keion White and Anton Harrison available at 31? Yeah, I'm not down for going with Felix there.

He also took Mims over Rice and there's no way I'm doing that.

My draft from that board is probably going to be Harrison/Rice but I could also end up talking myself into White's tools and gambling on Niang.
