Blake Bell's bloodline Chiefs connection.
 

How did I never know that Blake Bell is the nephew of Mike Bell, our #2 overall pick in the first round of the 1979 draft. Mike played for us until 1991, other than taking a year off in 1986 for, you know, the incident.

And Blake is the son of Mike's twin Mark, so he's basically got the same DNA as Mike if Mike had pulled the ol' switcheroo on Mark's wife. Mark played for the Seahawks and Colts from 1979 through 1994, and was out of the league when the, ummm, incident occurred.

Did you all know this? If so, why didn't you tell me?

The twins took a little vacation to Club Fed.

Met some of his family. Nice people.

Living in Wichita during their playing days, I knew the Bell story.

I saw Blake play QB in High School. He was a different physical specimen than most the other kids on the field.

Their dongs have banged out a lot of noise

Was he one of those quarterbacks who took the snap and ran because he was the biggest kid on the field? Or did he pass the ball sometimes?

I keep waiting to unleash him on some sort of lateral pass play, but I guess we're holding that back until we really need it. No need to unveil it when we're down 24-0 against the Texans since we'll come back and win without it.

And my apologies to the Bell family for bringing up the incident. I really enjoyed the Still-Bell-Maas 3-4 defensive front.

When I saw him, there were also a couple brothers on the opposing team that had brief NFL careers. Their names escape me at the moment, but the name Arthur was one of them. The older one was a Linebacker and the younger a running back. The older one had graduated, so the game I saw only had a future QB and RB.

Blakes team won the game. He passed the ball some but also ran a fair bit. I can only recall one play where Blake was going to pass, but it was fairly well covered - he kept his arm up to pass but was kind of side stepping to the left and forward while looking for an angle. By the time they tackled him he had gained 12-15 yards.

I was the statistician on a semi-pro team for a couple of years, and one year we got a quarterback who was basically a semi-pro Lamar Jackson. He would end up running on 3/4 of our passing plays. He was a good player, but it made me realize that a football game with no passing is less interesting than I'm accustomed to.

I had a couple answers I had to think about how I answered. Question 4 - I knew a pair of twins that tried it more than once with the other's wife. Didn't turn out well. Bonus question - Yes I am an old person, but I enjoy giving my opinion, solicited or not.

Arthur and Bryce Brown perhaps?

That has to be it and I believe Bryce was just deemed fit to stand trial on a domestic violence/rape charge. Nice upstanding family the Brown's are.

Was this before or after Mahomes? Because before Mahomes, all we knew was no passing...
