I guess this draft sucks
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">“If you have 15 first-round grades, then the class sucks,” said one <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NFL?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NFL</a> General Nanager Saturday: “And I got less than 15 this year.”<br><br>-Via <a href="https://twitter.com/AlbertBreer?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@AlbertBreer</a> of <a href="https://twitter.com/theMMQB?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@theMMQB</a> <a href="https://t.co/LOdojv9js0">pic.twitter.com/LOdojv9js0</a></p>— MLFootball (@_MLFootball) <a href="https://twitter.com/_MLFootball/status/1650471976639578117?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 24, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Good thing we're picking at 31 and not top 15-20. This is irrelevant for us.
|
Seems like there’s more than usual 2-4 round type guys. But this could also lessen the cost of moving up.
|
I think 2017 the top ten was pretty weak but there were so many great players that got drafted in other rounds.
(And obviously Mahomes/Myles Garrett were great prospects..) |
It was similar last year and Veach knew exactly where to go to secure one of the guys with a first round grade.
I’m hoping the NFL is stupid enough to let Lukas, Carter or Nolan drop to 18 so Veach can have the league deep throat him again. |

Weird draft. Not as many blue chip prospects but it seems like there’s a lot of talent or potential deeper than normal at a few positions.

Of course the QB analysis there was especially bad because supposedly there was no "elite QB talent". |
What does a General Nanager do?

Well next years draft is far and away better, especially at the top of the draft. That’s why they are saying this

Caleb Williams
Drake Maye Marvin Harrison Jr Olumuyiwa Fashanu Brock Bowers Yeah not seeing how anyone from this draft class could go in the top 5 next year. Maybe Will Anderson. Maybe |
You gotta grade the draft and draft from the class in front of you regardless of whether or not some guys go in the 1st that might be 2nd rounders in some classes and so forth.
I could see a team wanting to move down for 2024 capital if it looks stronger but I just don't see but one or two of those types of trades coming to fruition. It is what it is. People focus on this shit far too much. There are still really good players in this draft and there is some quality into day 3. |
