Cris Collinsworth does a mock and it's terrible

It's nice to get some competition in at quarterback.
|
What the actual ****? I thought it couldn't get any worse than a guard in the first. Chris just proved me wrong.
|
Something to always remember with these mocks..
If they think someone is going round 1 a lot of times they'll throw them in so they can say hey I got 10 players in the 1st round! |
The Seahawks are going with Will Anderson and Van Ness with both of their picks?
|
Nobody is that dumb, surely he's projecting a trade-up without bothering to project the actual trade.

"I wanted to get this guy in the first..." It's silly as hell. The best guess i have for Collinsworth is that he meant to note a trade-back by KC there. Man, I know it would be hilariously anti-climactic, but the 2024 draft is sooooooo gooooood. Shit it's amazing through the top 10. I sure would like to have another 1st rounder next year to potentially get up there. I'd give up that 1 for a high 3 and next year's 1st in a heartbeat for a team that wanted to get up there and take Hendon Hooker. I know a lot of fans would lose their minds but you'd be talking a team that is already SB capable building up firepower that could help set the foundation for the next 10 years after guys like Jones and Kelce age out. That's hard to find from the 28-32 spot. But it's a hell of a lot easier if you're holding 17 and 32. That'll get you into the top 10 in a draft that has some absolutely insane blue chippers at the top. It's so good at the top that it will push guys who are the same caliber as those we're seeing as sure-fire top 5 guys into the early teens next year. I want that 2024 firepower if I can get it. And if that means moving this years first then doing a tag and trade of Jones as well next season, so be it. Load me the hell up in the top 20-25 next season. |

It'll have to be a tag and trade of Jones to get the picks, if we want them. But nah, great players come from the end of the first round all the time. Or so I've been told. |
And let me clarify - I don't think this is a bad draft. I think it's a pretty ordinary one.
I just think next year's draft is unreal. You have a QB, TE, WR, OT and DE in next year's draft who would all be the top guy taken at that position t his year. And without any question. Each of them will go top 8, IMO. Frankly that could be 5 of your first 6. And with that, you effectively have this seasons draft starting at about the 7 spot. A 'conventional' draft goes about 15-18 deep in 'first round grades' and I think next year's will go at least 22-24 deep. |

And while I think we have some needs at RT and WR, I don't think the talent likely to be there is any better than what we can get in the 2nd. So if Hooker slides, we're gonna be the team that guys are coming to in order to get back into the 1st and get that 5th year option on him. |
The Chiefs are more likely to draft an actual hooker. Collinsworth is ****ing stupid.

And Hooker may go in the top 20. It's all dependent on the board. It's just the sort of scenario that could transpire whereby we're the best game in town. |

When were we taking a G at 31? Is that a thing? Struggling to remember the last time a heard a OG was taken in the first round . . . and since when are we hard up for a G?
