Who’s had a colonoscopy?

Had my first the other day. All in all, not bad whatsoever. The buildup was much worse than the procedure itself. Glad it’s done for 5-10 years.

The prep is absolutely the worst. The procedure is nothing compared to the prep and the jet propulsion shits you get from chugging magnesium citrate.

Yes, but you might find the car keys you lost.

Absolutely 100%! I felt nothing during the actual procedure, beyond embarrassment.

The prep, though, is a nightmare. Warm, room temperature, cold, didn't matter, the vile substance they made me drink to prep should be classified as cruel and unusual punishment. I was partially puking it back up as I drank it, it was so foul. *Shudders remembering*

I kind of liked being cleaned out.. Had one 3 years ago. Having another one July 12th along with an esophagus scope. I'm having issues with my diverticulitis and a hiatal hernia.. I've changed my diet and lost 25lbs in the last 6 months, but I still have issues. Feels like I have a knot in my lower abdomen..

I hear you can request a pill rather than the drink and that's a much better experience. Doctors are hesitant to prescribe the pill for whatever reason. Anyone have any experience or expertise on that?

I’m 36 myself, was thinking about getting it done soon.

I thought there was a pill option but maybe it’s not common because it wasn’t offered. I drank the lemon shit which really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

They also recommend a "white diet" the day before you do the cleanse. It's literally what it sounds like - white foods. Supposedly it helps clean you out more thoroughly and makes the process easier for the doctor and shows more up your chute.

I just got one last week. I feel like the prep was easier than it was the first time I did it. I got a hunger headache for a while, but once I started on the liquid diet it was actually surprisingly easy.

The bad news is that they moved me up to a 3-year cycle. .

45 is the age if you have normal risk factors.

Evacuating the bowels after drinking that prep was the worse part.
