Hypertriglyceridemia
Have you had it?
How did you treat it? How big of a deal is it anyway? |
Easy for you to say.
|
My triglycerides have kind of been out of wack since my early 20s. I'm otherwise healthy, in reasonable shape, eat fairly well. Kind of odd.
|
For those of you not familar with this condition, it's when your three-horned dinosaurs grow to abnormally large sizes.

Have you ever had pancreatitis? That is one thing to watch out for with TG elevation. Fenofibrate or Vascepa are usually the first choices for therapy. Watch alcohol consumption. |

Never had any type of issues with my pancreas. My TG levels are around 370 right now. They've hovered between 200 and 400 since I started having them tested 6-7 years back. I don't drink any alcohol whatsoever. What are the odds this is/has already done damage to my body? . |

How do you fix hypertriglyceridemia?
Healthy lifestyle choices are key: Exercise regularly. ... Avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates. ... Lose weight. ... Choose healthier fats. Trade saturated fat found in meats for healthier fat found in plants, such as olive and canola oils. ... Limit how much alcohol you drink. |
Some times it can be hereditary or just your body's programming. I have a super healthy, lean friend who eats a 90 percent vegan diet and has elevated levels.
Work with your doctors t get more tests if you are already doing the lifestyle and diet actions above. |
Oh man. You took the jab didn't ya?

I had high Triglyceride's (230 mg/dL) back in 2021. Two years later and I'm now at 88 mg/dL. I don't think I did anything majorly different or at least didn't document a huge change in anything physically or through diet. I do eat more avocados lately.
The one thing I did change since my high Triglyceride test is that I tend to only eat in a 6 hour window period. It is a fasting term known as 6/18. It works for me but might not work for some. You could give the 6/18 a try and see if changes your test results. |
