Christmas Eve, 1994. Win and you're in.
Lot of history here.
Joe Montana's final regular season game. Marcus Allen surpasses 10k rushing yards. Art Shell's final game as Raiders head coach before becoming an O line coach for KC the following season. Crushing the Raiders' playoff hopes in the last NFL game in LA for 22 years. Raiders set the NFL record for penalties in a season. https://youtu.be/dSoriUoYU5A?si=7geTdMh3fsevZen4 |
I remember Marcus Allen had a big game. It was smash mouth!

...and then Gruden and the Faid ended our season in a play in scenario years later...oof

94 was a rough year for me dealing with a nasty divorce. I started drinking heavily and dabbling with various drugs. Football was on the back burner for me. Thankfully those days are long behind me and I survived long enough to witness our glory years.

My first full season watching the Chiefs. I remember a big Pick 6 in that game.
We always played the Raiders well during my fandom, except for when Gannon was their QB. |
I forgot how much David Whitmore sucked!
But still enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Thanks. :thumb: |
clicking through and saw Romanowski
FU came out of my mouth. |
We had our family Christmas that day. I had strep. Went to the ER 40 minutes away, and got an Rx for Keflex. Turns out, I was allergic to it. Nice abdominal rash. I remember Montana hitting a long pass (on a free play??) right before I went to the hospital.
My mom hit a hawk on her way back to my grandparents' farm. Unique experience. |
I have blocked everything before Mahomes… You say Kansas City had a football team in 94??? Interesting….

Thanks for the link. Watched the whole game. Made my work day go by a little faster. Hostetler's pick 6 right before the half was hilarious.

I'd forgotten what a bitch Jeff Hostetler was. I mean every dropped pass or bad play he looks like he's about to cry, piss poor body language and bitching. |

It's funny watching these old games and remembering what it was like. No score on the bottom of the screen. No graphics showing what the down and distance to 1st down is. If you wanted to know the score you had to wait until they showed it. You couldn't even look it up on the internet.

It's refreshing to watch these games as well seeing big hits on quarterbacks without your eyes rapidly scanning the screen for a flag. It had to be flagrant to be called. |
