One possible explanation for some errant passes

I didn't like watching this before the season.

Around the 5 minute mark Mahomes is talking about his grip on the football

and he throws in that people tell him his grip is bad. I feel like it was working just fine? I can't find it but somewhere else he said he's working on fixing it.

This stuck with me, new grip, new receivers, new OC...it might take a while for him to settle in with all these changes.

Was his grip bad when he dropped it in a bucket to Watson 40 yards down field on the move last week?

Stop overthinking shit over one game.

No? Surely you get that just because you pass it perfectly and then throw a duck later that one doesn't change the other.

Also are you trying to convince yourself that he hasn't thrown some really bad passes? Because he has.

I have every faith it will get worked out but just a possible explanation of why some of his throws don't seem like his usual stuff.

If we're attempting to come up with explanations beyond "he just had a bad game," I think rolling his ankle in the previous game is a much more plausible explanation. Obviously it wasn't enough to even put him on the injury report, but it's possible that a little lingering pain resulted in some shoddy footwork.

But most likely, he just had a bad game. It happens 1-2 times a year.

For sure, I just hadn't heard anyone else say anything about this.

Mahomes has "footwork"?

Agree. It doesn't help either that he is not comfortable yet with any of the new receivers to trust them to run the right route either. His throws had hesitancy attached to them as though he didn't trust who he was throwing to thus when that happens you definitely lose the touch with that "Oh sh** why did I just throw it that way for"!. Just my opinion and what I saw.

Instead of throwing those deep throws he should just look for Skyy Moore, who according to you is amazing at getting open.

he was obviously attempting some bucket high arc pass that he's probably been working on with Kelce. But they don't have it down yet lol

TBH I thought he just didn’t look that locked in

crazycoffey 10-04-2023 07:38 PM

I thought it was a bad game because Britt was up in the stands with Ryan Reynolds. He’s on her hall pass list, and it’s laminated…….

ShortRoundChief 10-04-2023 08:37 PM

Honestly my thinking was that his ankle was preventing him from stepping into his throws and he tried to compensate with his arm strength alone. Of course, my concerns about his ankle were put to rest when he was able to make the big runs late.

Here's to hoping it was just a bad game.

Or mahomes is living in a mega mansion and Kelce is dating the most popular female alive and even jordan(the greatest competitor in human history) struggled with keeping motivated while on top
