remote work - anyone on the job search?
 

I spent the better part of this year unemployed as my union went on strike, and now basically my industry shuts down for two months. I'm currently in contract negotiations, but there's no way that gets finished before 2024 and a check won't arrive until February.

So... I'm on the job hunt. Have a new kid, so I can't go into an office really. Anyone here have any luck looking for remote work? I don't really care what industry it is in, so long as I don't have to talk to customers all day or have big brother monitoring my computer activity.

Anyone here have a method/search/field they like?

And yes... I've tried drinking anti-freeze. Loved the work, hated the hours.

Government jobs are largely remote for non hands on work. Also, it's a good idea to have a dedicated PC or laptop for work so you don't have to worry about big brother.

If you only are worried about the next few months then try Arise. It's all wfh and you can make your own schedule. No paid training, so that sucks. Also pay isn't great ~$11.00/hr - ~$16.00/hr. Just something to pass the time and get paid with no real commitment.

I’ve been working remotely since 2015. But, that’s in I.T. So it may not be applicable to your situation.
