College Football 12-team Playoffs

I thought the schedule was interesting in relation to the NFL playoffs.... they're playing Thursday/Friday night games ahead of Wild Card Weekend and then the National Championship Game is the Monday after the Conference Championship games.

The College Football Playoff has announced kickoff times and broadcast information for the 2024-25 CFP games. The schedule marks the first of the expanded 12-team field.

Nine of the 11 games will be broadcast on ESPN, which extended its exclusive contract with the CFP. Two first-round games will appear on both ESPN and ABC; however, two other afternoon first-round games were sublicensed to TNT Sports. Turner is set to broadcast college football for the first time in nearly 20 years. Both TNT games will go directly up against NFL matchups.

For the first time, postseason matchups will take place on campus sites in the first round. Seeds 5-12 will participate in the first round of the CFP, with games taking place on the campuses of higher-ranked seeds. Seeds 1-4 will receive a first-round bye and play their first games in the quarterfinals.

The 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship will take place Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The 2026 CFP title game will take place in Miami Gardens, Florida. No other sites have been announced as yet as the CFP starts instituting a new television contract during the 2026 season.

Kansas is making it this year.

The Big 12 sucks.

All you have to do is beat shitty teams.

I think there’s a lot of good teams in the Big12 actually. Not many bad teams other than maybe Arizona State now that Kansas has a pulse. There’s just no top teams like the Georgia’s, Ohio States, and so ons of the world.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s 5+ teams still in the running to make the Big12 Championship game with a few weeks left in the season.

K-State will be in the Playoffs this year. Best team in the B12. Book it.

No every team sucks. Been that way for years. Even worse now that Texas and Oklahoma gone. TCU thought they were something and then got embarrassed. No Big 12 team really deserves to make this thing but luckily all of these other conferences with good football teams will beat up on each other and take Ls.

Kansas State is ranked 17th in the preseason. Utah is ranked 9th.
