See, they're playing Mahomes different the last two years. We'll need to change sumpthin

mahomes still middle of the pack after playing 2 of the best defenses in the league. |
Really probably has as much to do with blocking as it does any coverages.
Combine the two though and yeah, shit's tough. |
What ever it is it's painful to watch. Games are a brutal slog this year. Horribly officiated over calling penalties on tye offense. Just a terrible product.
|
Ugh, Sam Darnold is better than Mahomes according to that chart. Off to the Doom thread!

I know we're struggling with our LT, but damn, we are far from alone. |

I assume this is directly related to Bo Nix starting at quarterback.

Correlation does not equal causation, but Bo Nix DOES equal horrible QB stats |
Lots of young qbs and most teams playing 2 deep.
We tried saying what would happen after mahomes adapted and others could not. I see 2 te sets and 2 rbs.coming back.to popularity from costs alone. |

It’s such a boring way to play and watch football. I don’t know what the league can really do about it because I don’t think it’s going away anytime soon. But it’s annoying and hurting the product from a viewing standpoint. |
I just find it hard to believe it’s just the defensive coverages. This isn’t a new defense and there are lots of experienced QBs playing like shit. So what is it? Some theories starting with reasonable to bat shit crazy…
Refusal to play starters enough preseason minutes . OL in particular don’t get nearly the offseason training they used to Defensive coaching has improved. Not as many great young offensive minds New qb contracts mean less stockpiling of talent. Is it harder to find and keep good OL? I also hate to go this route. But I wonder if Vegas has some hand. Unders are good for business and seems strange that baseball and nfl have had major offense droughts. Maybe less motivation to juice the game as they have in the past? |

That right there is why everyone should quit bitching about the offense.
