Hunt and Pacheco
This is a scary prospect.
I was exceptionally annoyed today to see these guys get shelved in favor of repeated passes we again could not get blocked up. Andy Stans will squeeeeee, but you cant just give each guy 7 carries, especially when pop just busted loose a couple plays before you abandoned the run. This was exactly what happened in Buffalo. Couldn't pass protect, run abandoned, more strain put on o line to block for a one dimensional offense, and
Spoiler!
Last time I saw something like this was Alex Smith injured against the Steelers, suffering lacerated spleen. Mahomes rocks the cape pretty good, but he's not The Man of Steel. He's gonna get hurt right before the post season if this bullshit continues. Hunt and Pacheco could be such an asset if they could just get more than a warmup worth of touches. |
I was somewhat laughing as CP'ers were so excited to have Pacheco back like it was going to make this huge difference in the offense.
I love Pacheco... but it won't change Andy calling a ****ing shovel pass at the goal line. |

From the 10 not so much lmao. |
Can’t make this shit up. Mahomes is pressured every drop back and Andy still neglects trying to run. ****

After Pacheco busted that 30-yard run that was the end of the running game

We've seen it over the course of his entire career. He's ignored multiple superstar backs in his gameplan, often times even when his qb has hot trash to throw to. "Run the ball? Sounds hard." Is the concept that kept Andy from getting a ring in Philly. Mahomes is the only thing standing between the threepeat and pant shitting Andy allowing history to spiral down the drain because he can't understand wtf is happening out there on that field. We can't block, throw moar is gonna get Pat in traction. Humphries won't be a fencepost, but he's not going to singlehandedly fix what is happening up front. Andy refusing to relieve the pressure by keeping the pass rush honest is not a challenge this o line is up for. Two of the worst teams in football have taken us the distance. The reason is bad coaching as much as poor play. Hey do you suck at this? Cool i won't ask you to do it every single God damn play. That's Andy's job. What do you do well, let's do that. Let's avoid what you suck at especially if it endangers the only reason our team has any hardware at all. God damn. Somebody get Andy a ****ing mirror so he can look in it for Christ's sake. |

OL run-blocking has been very poor going back to the Denver game a month ago. Need to get a stronger push in those situations.

Game plan was stupid. Totallybstupid all day.

Outside of the one long run they averaged less than 2 ypc. I don't blame Andy and Mahomes for going away from it. If anything it shows they adapt to the defense.

Abandoning your running game entirely and becoming one dimensional willingly is not adapting to the defense. Adapting to the defense would be using their aggressiveness against them and finding ways to move the football on the ground, as ahem....and this may come as a shock to you, but there are more running plays in the playbook besides halfback dive. Giving up on a guy after 7 carries is Harbaugh in the AFCCG level coaching malpractice, and Andy did the shit TWICE. Pop, and Hunt both got ignored after 7 carries. 7 carries is barely a ****in warmup worth of carries. Pop saw the ball one more time after he busted loose and that was that. On top of it, you can't even protect your God damn quarterback, so you might as well pick one of these guys to get committed to and let them get a feel for the defense. Becoming one dimensional with a fencepost on the blindside is a good way to get your qb killed. |
