AI in football?
I saw Tom Brady gloating about how sharp he was before the snap, how he studied all of our scheme habits on film before the SB, even down to individual player movements pre-snap that revealed our coverage.
My question is what’s AI’s place in the NFL moving forward? Seems extremely likely that by next season team’s will be feeding AI competitive tape and stats to identify trends and potential counter measures, if they’re not already doing this. One step further would be using AI in real-time to identify potential tells to could alert the QB to coverage, similar to stealing signs in baseball. What additional ways will AI impact the NFL? How would this impact gambling? What are your thoughts on potential regulation of AI in football? Curious to hear your feedback. |
Practice?!?!
We talkin bout practice?!?1 |
Real time game monitoring that tells coaches when to go for it on fourth, when to go for 2, etc.

Yeah, A.I. needs to be banned in the NFL. It’s going to take the happenstance out of football. It will be less exciting.
It’s a game between men and the coaches, not who has the best A.I. bot. |
This year they permitted the use of technology in the coaches box and locker rooms of Texas high school football games.
You can look them up, there are these companies that sell these software programs to NFL/college/HS teams and as the game goes on, you can input information into the program and it will spit you a myriad of up-to-date information on your opponents' trends and tendencies. Here's one of the companies: https://ansrs.ai/product/ |
