There's life outside of obsessing over the Chiefs

Something I noticed about myself and might be a decent reminder to someone who needs to hear it.

I noticed i was obsessing over the chance for a 3-peat so much it was affecting my overall well-being, and failing that quest definitely hurt. And with the rest of the NFL fans taking their victory lap over our demise, Kelce potentially retiring, and the offseason pundits surely expecting us to fail next year, it would be really easy to get too caught up in all the negativity and hate surrounding the Chiefs, caring too much about what everyone else thinks.

I think I'm gonna chill this offseason. Obviously I'll be checking if Kelce retires and watching the offseason moves, but otherwise I'll be more lax about it. People are gonna say some dumb shit about us this offseason for sure, and it's just not worth getting riled up over.

I learned a while ago that it's not getting worked up that much over something you have zero control over. I'll always root for and watch my favorite team like I always have but I have absolutely no control over it, just sit back and enjoy this ride because it will end some day, in more ways than one.

yup, just look at the Pats and their miserable fan base...

Im good with whatever happens from here on out. The past 7 years have been phenomenal, exceptional, and not every fan base gets to experience what we have. And the deal is Mahomes is just 29, so more good times ahead!
Go CHIEFS!

and ignore the haters

They cannot figure out when you move on from a game and live your life.

It hasn’t changed my daily life other than allow me talk a little more mad shit with my buddies. I’m good from here on out. I was good in the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000. Just before Andy and Alex kind of sucked. ****, we are the best team in football.

Rainbarrel 02-12-2025 08:16 PM

Mahomes will drop the iconic hairstyle & you'll be back

threebag 02-12-2025 08:16 PM

Just one more second and less bundle of sticks and we could have 3peated.

It’s not like I hang out and drink beer because of football. I can hang out and drink beer and watch other shit too. Work on cars, golf, ranch and whatever else I want to do. Freeing up my Sundays is actually a nice break

I went to the black out game. My first years being more than a true fan were 11 and 12. I just wanted to see one super bowl. The first super bowl loss devastated me. This one honestly is not half as bad on me emotionally. We've added 3 to the case and still have the best player in the league on our team. Let the haters talk. This is far from over. Were the most blessed fan base right now even with an embarrassing loss.

Not to mention CP Is far more interesting when everyone's a little pissed off instead of non stop sunshine and rainbows. I rediscovered my love for super cross during the bye that gives me something to look forward to so I don't feel so empty waiting for game day.

The loss only really messed with us if we bet on it. I didn’t trust our o line going into the bills or eagles games so no bets from me this year. Last year I had some nice wins

smithandrew051 02-12-2025 08:35 PM

This is all I have.

My wife left me. Took the kids.

All I wanted (needed) was a 3-peat.

Go Chiefs.

I spent most of my life watching a team that couldn't win a playoff game. It's hard to be upset when your team has won 17 of them since Mahomes became the starter and 3 of them Super Bowls. If you can't enjoy this season for what it was, you're doing it wrong.

Dante84 02-12-2025 08:40 PM

I’d be way more upset if I hadn’t just watched my team win 3 and go to 5 superbowls in 6 years.
