Should Veach be in all in year-to-year mode with Mahomes yet?

The next 5 or 6 years will be everything for our golden age. In past years he has mentioned team success for the long term, but we are now 7 years in. Once he hits 36ish the running around making miracles happen will be slowing down for sure. Should we not be selling out some future a little bit to maximize the next 5?

No. Playing for today while planning for the future has worked out well and there is no reason to change that.

No, because you can't realistically go "All In" every year. It's not like a cash game in poker where you can re-buy. You'll eventually run out of players and picks to move.

They can be a contender every year with Mahomes, provided the rest of the players aren't total JAGs. In 2024 and 2020, they had arguably their most talented teams, but didn't win the SB. They won in 2022 after losing Tyreek Hill.

No he’s not even 30 yet. It’s reasonable to think he’ll play until at least 35. You can’t go all in for 6 years that’s absurd.

Rodgers is as similar to his playing style as anyone and was winning MVPs at 37 and 38 years old. No they should not be pushing all chips in.

And I trust Mahomes to keep himself in as good or better shape than Aaron as he ages.

In my opinion, yes.

I'm really not trying to upset you guys because I know this will really really piss people off but I do not think Mahomes will age as gracefully as some QBs we have seen and I'm not even counting the extreme outlier in Brady.

The next five years are probably all we have left for Mahomes to be effective. He is a guy that uses his quick twitch to get out of harms way instead of great pocket presence. With his body type he holds some pudge a little bit so it's reasonable to expect he won't be at his best or close to it still when he's 35+.

Thats why we should still be going for it. Regardless of if we have Kelce or Chris Jones.

I’m not sure how “going all in” every year is feasible. You can’t just not think about the future. It’s the quickest way to get us to pre Andy Reid levels of success.

I agree with the we should go all in part, somply b/c there are no gusrantees in life...But IMO, Mahomes has more time than you're giving him. IMO, he'll still have his arm and escape ability, like Brett Favre did, later in his career.

Just draft well. Over and over again. There's never going to be some huge slack in the line to pay a bunch of free agents, and we are never going to flush/start over as long as Mahomes is still in his prime. Draft well and be a shrewd manager of the cap. And for crying out loud find some way, ANY way to get us a left tackle.
