I'm kinda bummed at the moment. Apologies in advance for the vent session.

So, I go on the radio this morning hoping to stir some interest in 37 Forever and our banquet. Thus far, I've gotten rid of 2 tickets - the ones we gave away....

The Arrowhead Club isn't cheap and we have to spend $3000 minimum. Hey, that's only 30 or 40 people at $75-100 prices, right? Wrong. We also need to have money left over to pay for some swimming lessons. We don't have it yet. I want 100 people at this banquet.

I know there's over 2 weeks left, but I'd like for some people to step up and committ to helping the organization. It doesn't have to be you. If money is short, invite your friends - invite your family. If you sell 4 tickets, I'm going to let you in for free. If you bring $200 worth of auction items, your ticket is comped.

This thread is not intended as a guilt trip. It isn't to twist your arm. I don't expect ChiefsPlanet to always bail 37 Forever out. We need to gain support from the KC community, but because we don't promote well enough, we haven't been successful in doing so.... YET. We'll get there with your help.

If you live in the KC area, please buy a ticket to one of our events. If you don't, make a phone call to somebody who does and ask them to get a ticket. It is going to be a great time. You can't have more fun on $75 anywhere these days.

For some reason, you may be unaware of all the stuff going on.... Click the first thread in the Lounge. All the details are there.

If ENDelt, KC Dan, RaiderHader, Logical, Bob Damned Dole, RoyC, and others can spend hundreds to fly/drive to KC (EVERY YEAR) in order to support 37 Forever, I don't feel badly asking the people who are LOCAL to cough up a few bucks for a good cause.

If you don't have the money, I've listed alternate ways you can attend. I try to keep the Foundation 100% positive and you have my apologies for this little bitchfest. I'm sure everything will turn out great in the end, but I'm slightly frustrated at the moment.

Good call..for a good cause. I'll get in touch with you.

Thanks for your support, Saul. You're coming to the banquet or St. Joe event due to a donation of $200+ of auction items.

I know a good dozen people in my company out there that I can make aware of the situation and ask them to spread the word.

Can't promise anything but I'll start writing up the e-mail shortly.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks a lot, Joe.

Just because somebody can't attend or can't donate doesn't mean you can't help. If you can talk somebody else into attending, that's a huge contribution.

I've got a couple of FBs with Will's and Eddie's signatures; and Priest's jersey that I'm bringin' to the banquet for auction (keep the comp ticket) .....wish I could bring my wife, but with four young 'uns at home, can't right now.

Come on, KC people.....let's do this right. :thumb:

I really do feel badly about posting this. I was torn about doing so because I think it is important to keep everything positive with such an organization. Please don't feel guilty if you can't come. However, every effort to help 37 Forever will be appreciated.

Still unsure if I can make it to either of these, but thanks. I'll get the stuff to you ASAP.

Phill,
I can't make it this year, but I'll buy a couple of tickets anyway. Maybe you can give them to some folks who don't have the $$$. Shoot me a PM to discuss.

ROYC75 09-10-2004 01:33 PM

Phil, I agree. The Planet members have been good to us and in due time 37 Forever is going to be self supported with the efforts that many of the members and friends.

As for feeling bad, I disagree, you shouldn't. This request is simply a request for all members and supporters to continue their efforts for a good cause.

For 4 years now, this foundation has grown thru the support of the planet and foundation members. Reaching out to get others involved is what this is all about. It's just a matter of time before that 1st big annual contribution comes along.

When it does, each and every member can be proud of the accomplishments that they made.

if anyone would be interested in having a copy, please let us know.
