Installed a real firewall at my office.....

I just installed a hardware firewall at my office, and it is simply amazing all the scanning hits we take. It is pretty amazing looking at the logs.

It's also pretty fun watching what the employees are doing on the outbound side :)

Model your internal traffic, know what service creates what traffic. If you know what belongs there, it makes it easier to identify what doesn't belong there.

Oh, and make sure you change the default username and password to access the thing. :p :thumb:

I'm kind of hoping my employer DOESN'T do this.

No, but you're probably the only person employed in the IT industry that thinks that.

Send me a PM and let me know who your employer is.

I'll sell them a managed FW service...we're not in the business of spying on employees.
