Has anyone seen our Offense?
Sure the D once again sucked ass, but we knew that would happen.
But the O put up 10 points? I'm really worried. Trent looks like crap in these two games. Oline is not winning the battle up front. Play calling sucks 10 points? Why not pound Priest? Saunders seemed to use play action to try to open up holes for the running game, I think we should have ran to open up the passing game. Not good people, not good at all. On the bright side we are only a game back in the division. |
I have seen it and it looked like complete ass.

The Donkeys showed you don't have to pay any respect to our WR's....That allows for a double to come up to the line on Gonzo and if by chance we are running it has that extra man already in the box.
You had to have absolutely everything clicking perfect to pull off what we pulled off last year with horrible WR's....While we didn't use Boe much he did draw some deep respect in the slot and helped open things up a little. We now have zero outside and that is really going to allow teams to clamp down on the offense. A middle of the road offense and the worst defense in the league could spell a one season collapse that could rival the Faiders SB season followed by their 4-12 stinker. The worst part is this team is no spring chicken so it isn't like we can have hope of things really getting a lot better quickly with game experience. By NFL standards are O Line is old, our RB is old our WR's are old and bad our QB is old with no young prospect behind him our coach is old....combine that with the worst defense in the league and the next few years could be very, very ugly. |
like many like me suggested, the NFL D is catching up to the chiefs, thats why it was important that the chiefs made some upgrades on both side of the ball.

i thought we picked up some good players for beltran

Weve maintained the same O for the last 3 seasons and have kept it for the 4th. Of course the NFL by now knows every aspect of our game and thus far its quite evident they do. Thank God Priest is back, otherwise were screwed like a prison inmate.

I thought the use of the play action pass in the first drive was fantastic.... to a point. After seeing Priest was totally healthy against the Broncs, and our WR (and Gonzo) could get no seperation against the Broncs, the play action was perfect. Thing is, we kind of overkilled it.
I still think the play action game is the way to go, and pound the ball up the middle. Our O-line is starting to show their ages a little bit. Not as quick afoot as they used to be. Pound it straight ahead between the tackles. Priest can make a whole lot of yards through there (that is where the 41 yarder was). Bring in LJ... and yes I saw his tantrum when he wasn't brought in when Holmes came out.. setting on the bench all by himself.... and let him pound the middle too. That is supposed to be his forte isn't it. Then mix in (not use it on every stinking play of the drive) the play action pass. I think it is a must, as we blew our chance last season with the offense. The age factor is becomming a real issue, much as it did last season for another West team. |

Dante has no business being a starting WR: too small, the passes fly right over his head or get picked by a tall DB. I think it's also subtracted from the return game. I was admittedly a Richard Smith fan, but clearly he was all preseason hype. Anyone else want to beath the shit out of that fucking pvssy, Morton? When Bill Maas ranted about him and they showed that replay of how he backed away from a catchable ball because he saw a safety coming, I almost puked. Get him off the field... think Tampa would take him and a draft pick for McCardell? What scares me more than that the Offense has gotten worse (bad WR corp, lack of chemistry with Welbourn) is that teams with good D's know how to game plan against us. We're in some trouble. |
Where is all the misdirection and trickery weve become accustomed to? This years O in know way resembles any of our previous efforts. Well heres to Homerism...14-2 here we come.

Maybe but at least with him their is upside potential and hope...There is neither with our current starters. |
I think the biggest issue driving all of this is at wide receiver. We don't have any. Trent had good protection both games, but no one is open. So the offense doesn't get it done. And the defense spends almost the entire second half on the field on a 90-degree day.
Yes the defense has a ways to go. But the wide receiver issue is what looms biggest in my mind. And unless the rookies step up, we're in a world of hurt. Or we need to find a veteran out there - even McCardell or another guy the Bucs cut - Danny Farmer. But we need help and fast. |

I certainly found it ironic that Kerry Colbert who we should have selected instead of Kris Wilson scored a TD on us and then flexed his KC tattoo. |
we stayed the same...everyone else changed

I think Trent has done excellent work with nothing to work with. The receivers are not getting open. Trent is good, but not that good. Its pretty clear that with limited work for camp with Kennison and no work at all for Morton, they are not making the right decisions. I also have to doubt their conditioning.
