Also, do people really think we could go to the playoffs and to SB with a new FO after going 2-14 the previous year. Yes, some teams have done it in recent years, But then they have gone back to their losing ways...Delusional and stupid.
Yes, I want a SB too, but not 1 every 10 years...I want a Dynasty and to get that, you have to build, I think we're heading in that direction, no not with Alex, but with ??? and I don't think Geno could do this either.
Hell, after what I have seen the last 5 yrs...I'll be happy going .500

That's exactly the problem. Picking up someone elses leftovers at qb isn't part of rebuilding, it is purely a solution to get butts in the seats and get to 8-8 as quickly as possible. If Alex Smith isn't the future, (which by the way he is, we paid way to much for him to be here for just a year) then we aren't going to make any progress as a team. Sure, we have a young qb in Bray, but lucking our way into an UDFA isn't exactly what I'd call a grand plan for success at the most important position in sports. You need to constantly be searching for a qb if you don't have one. Not settling for mediocre and hoping next year Peypey in his prime is coming out and nobody else wants him at pick 16
