When a QB starts a new scheme with a perceived strong defense and STs... it makes sense that the offense will walk before the run. Like it or hate it... Alex really makes a lot of sense for the Chiefs to evolve that new offense. Now whether Alex takes the pass game to the next level needed? Hey, that's fair to guess on... but not fair to condemn the chances of.
As others pointed out it's not taking other QB's that long.. Rivers and Cutler for example tearing it up this year.

What I think Alex makes sense as is a stop gap QB while they search for/develop that guy that can take the offense to the next level.
