For the season, when throwing passes outside the numbers and over 10 yards, Alex is a pathetic 9 for 29.
He is 7 for 21 in that precious, precious 10-19 yard area.

I like stats as much as anyone, but QB stats are tougher to quantify since it is more than just the QB responsible for a lot of the data. The Chiefs receivers drop a lot of well-thrown passes. The O-Line seems to be brain-dead in the first half and/or until Branden Albert goes out. Blah, blah, blah.
That said, the last three weeks have been a steady circle down the toilet bowl for Alex Smith. He made a lot of unforced errors last Sunday. He overthrew a couple of passes that would have gone for TDs if he had been accurate. These are throws that were all on him.
I think the whole comparison to Geno is stupid and tired and there's no way we're undefeated with Geno or Bray behind center, but Alex has to improve, especially if Reid is going to keep calling his number 30-40 times a game.
