That's 72 other guys besides Alex Smith that go into that win/loss record. So no, Alex SMith is not 6-0. The Kansas City Chiefs, are 6-0.
When you look at a PLAYER you compare him to other players of the same position. And, much like in SF, the team is winning in SPITE of the poor performance of Alex Smith. Period.Exclamation.Smileyface.

Well, that's not really true. If Smith were tossing up INTs and coughing up fumbles like some QBs are, THEN you could say the team is winning "in spite" of him. What Smith is doing... as minimal as it can be at times.. is putting together a few but not enough scoring drives. I say not enough, but well, clearly it is enough for wins now.
The defense IS doing the heavy lifting... but the offense isn't hurting the D, and is even helping with a drive here and there to add to the scoreboard. And that's not just Jamaal Charles doing this. It is the QB that is still throwing some passes... checking pre-snap defenses and putting JC into good run situations... taking care of the ball... and even making plays with his legs.
It's ugly... the output is not what any of us want. But let's not act like our offense is turning the ball over and completely useless.
