Smith is struggling to put up great numbers, that's obvious. I can give him a pass against the Texans because this is a team that has the No 1 defense and held Russell Wilson to 12/23 for 123 and 1 pick. In fact Smith is the only QB this year to pass for over 200 yards against them IIRC.
That said, he's going to need to pick it up against some of the more mediocre defenses we play in the 2nd half of the season...
