Two things that this tells me:
1.) It is amazing what happens when you elevate the expectations that you have for an individual. It's like when a dad tells a kids that they are no good and will never amount to anything. Then one day a teacher or counselor tells the kid that they could do anything if they put their mind to it and the kid rises to the new expectation. When Andy goes to Bowe and asks his advice and then implements it, Bowe feels he is a needed member of a team not just out to get his.
Then he follows it up by telling Bowe he could one day be a coach. Who knows if he had ever had someone see that kind of potential in him. All I have ever heard about Bowe from the naysayers is that he is out for number one. You hear that all your life and you eventually believe it and start acting like it.
2.) Once you start believing you are a part of something larger than you then you act in the interest of the whole not just your constituent part. Bowe's numbers may be down, but he may be contributing in ways that are leading to wins in ways that we would not see were it not for insight like this.
I for one say more power to the guy and I hope he keeps it up.
