He earned the extension. Yesterday is easily one of the best single games that a Chiefs QB has ever played.
But, this doesn't mean that we shouldn't be grooming a player under Smith, something this organization has never done. There should be zero loyalty to Daniel or Bray, and the team should be exploring all options, including a player who might, strangely, drop in the draft.
And I don't want to hear any bullshit about needing to get "impact" from first-round picks immediately. See: Fisher. And this player still might end up being a damn good pick; he just had a tremendous learning curve in year one, compounded with, at least, isolated pussitis.
