There are other ways to detect a car outside of radar, laser that are legally permissible. One is pacing. Don't pay attention and have a cop follow behind you and all the jamming in the world won't save you. Two is aerial observation. They can have a plan fly above you to pace you. All the tech in the world won't stop that. Finally the cop can visually estimate your speed. That is legally permissible in most jurisdictions and your active countermeasures won't do shit against it.
Detectors can have some value, but are best against radar and not so hot against laser.
Understand outside of school zones I always speed, I laugh hat how much people are pussies who refuse to pass a cop on the highway. If the cop isn't flashing his lights to slow traffic for some issue I have no problem going 5-7MPH over the speed limit to pass them. Could they pull me over? Sure but it's not generally worth their effort.
That's part of the key to avoid being the big target(and don't act guilty). Heh make the cop want to pull over someone else more. But one other key piece of advice, don't be a dick. You probably can't talk yourself out of a ticket...but you sure as hell can talk yourself into one!

yes I am aware of all of the above - Pacing is rare in the city and arial is almost exclusively a BFE tactic....RADAR jammers are illegal federally and carry some stiff penalties - LIDAR jammers used in states that prohibit them a generally less severe but could still land you in the county pokey for a few days.
I'm really just curious who uses them if anyone...
