Certain fanbases (who shall remain unnamed) actually have groups in their midst that take pride in being derogatory and personal. As an example, will call the player 24\7 for the week leading up to the game in an attempt to harass them.. they will hold up signs about their dead relatives in the games... etc etc...
And this was within this very conference in recent history. This guy calling a kid a "piece of crap" or whatever is far from the worst thing that will happen or has ever happened even to Marcus Smart. Marcus lost his temper (this is becoming the norm with him) because of what was happening on the court, and used this guy as a target for his fury.
It is out of the norm for an athlete to do this.

I know it's normal. I've been to these games in a multiplicity of locations. I've seen the hateful, juvenile, often racist shit that people yell at these athletes during games. And it's that fact that is exactly what disgusts me the most and what I take issue with. They should not be allowed to do so. Whether he called Smart a piece of crap (which sounds like total bullshit to me) or something far worse, it shouldn't be acceptable at all.
