Don't get me wrong, were we better last year than the year before? My God yes, by leaps and bounds. That shows you how much better Smith was than Cassel. That being said, I'm glad we picked up Smith because he was the best option available at the time. We of course got the shithole luck of having the #1 pick in a year that there were not ANY franchise QB's to take. I think we have the coach we need and a really bright future, but I don't see the Chiefs sniffing a Super Bowl for another 2 or 3 years...if that.
