All he did against EKU (an awful basketball team) was limit mistakes. That's fine because it's what the team badly needed at that point (Tharpe was out to lunch in that game), but you need more than that from a PG if you hope to win against actual competition (not to mention some level of defense). He's nowhere near the creator that either of Tharpe/Mason are right now (he can't create for himself and others at all, his role in the offense in the spare minutes he played was that of a spot shooter) and certainly shouldn't start over either one unless he raises his game significantly in the summer. Mason is the one of the two who had the very impressive freshman season, especially considering his recruiting status coming in.
