I love rows to since I've a fan of working my back. I just added a seated Hammer Strength Row machine to my gym and it's like heaven.
I also used to use some heavy ass dumbells with hooks for shrugs or the hex bar and recently switched over to shrugs with a barbell above my head. Holy Shit. I was sore for 2 weeks from doing those bad boys. It just hit in a way normal shrugs couldn't.
