I've also dropped a bit in terms of weight (used to be around 225/230, dropped to 175 right after I went vegan and now I'm back up to 200 and have been holding there for the last four/five months now) so I imagine that helps in terms of mushing on the rear suspension.

I'd like to get a little list of about five to seven bikes that fit the bill and then try to give them a serious test drive.
Full suspension has come a long way. And the bigger you are the more it seems to help. My buddy I ride with is 6'1" and weighs 260-275. He could never keep up with me (Im 5'11" 180) but once he bought his Kona I have to work keep up with him now. I'm in better shape but his bike is quite a bit better than my hardtail Trek.
