Many years ago, I wrote reviews for a site called epinions. They had a nice model where you actually got paid based on the number of people who read your reviews. It was a pittance, but if you wrote a good review on something popular, you could make five bucks or so and it was a nice ego feed. It would add up over time, and the key was to find a product that was somewhat popular but didn't have many reviews so that yours would get read more. You could write reviews on typical products or you could write book reviews or other things.
I don't know if they still use that model or not. I got bored with it pretty quickly and stopped writing them.
