And I also love brussels. Here is my favorite non-traditional way to cook brussel sprouts (for those who haven't acquired the taste):
1 lb. brussels (food process or shred/slice into slaw)
Thumb size of ginger, minced
Garlic
Olive Oil
Fish Sauce (or soy sauce)
Limes
Peanuts (1 cup, chopped or food processed)
Sriracha
White Wine
* Heat EVOO in pan.
* Add ginger and garlic. Sautee until fragrant
* Crank up heat and add brussel sprouts. Stir pretty much constantly (you're basically stir frying them)
* Add a splash or two of white wine. Cook until evaporated.
* Add a splash or two of fish sauce. Cook until evaporated.
* Toss in peanuts and cook a little longer.
* Brussel sprouts should be softened and flash fried now. Turn off heat. Add chopped cilantro and green onions. Squeeze in juice of half a lime. Squirt in some sriracha. Eat.
